Yahrzeits
We are a people who know how to remember. We carry our memories through our daily lives as we move into the future. Observing a loved one's Yahrzeit is very important, it reminds us to carry their dreams and memories forward in life.
The Kaddish, the prayer for our affirmation of life, should be recited on the day of your loved one's Yahrzeit. It is customary to light a Yahrzeit candle to remember them.
Giving Tzedakah in the name of your loved one is especially appropriate at this time to express a sense of "L'Dor V’ Dor", one generation to the next.
